Christmas Vacation Part 5
Thursday 13th January 2011
We arrived back In Australia last Sunday morning (Australian Time) and like most have watched as Queensland and other areas of our country have been hit by massive flooding.
Our thoughts and hopes are with anyone and everyone that has been affected by this ongoing tragedy.
The Nelson family US tour finished up with us spending three days in LA after our wonderful time in Las Vegas.
As soon as we arrived at our West Hollywood destination, Jae had us off to Guitar Center on W Sunset Blvd. We had pre ordered some microphone equipment for the TPC office that we needed to pick up. But I think it would be fair to say that Jae being the musician that he is was sort of keen on the idea of visiting one of the most famous music stores in the world.

Upon completion of the all encompassing tour of the Guitar Center we took a short stroll up the street to No.7533 W. Sunset Blvd, Cheebo's restaurant so that the Nelson family could replenish their fuel supplies via an evening meal.
Good restaurant, nice food, great atmosphere and outstanding service. The guests were mainly locals so the Aussie contingent did stand out a little much to the delight of the owners and staff.

Next day was orientated around a single mission, Universal Studios. The crew had a great time taking in the rides and entertainment, the back lot tour, nothing out of the ordinary and something that has been done by so many others but none the less it was still a lot of fun.

Our last day saw the Neslon's split up, Joanne made her way to a local shopping center the boys did our own thing and then met up with Joanne later that afternoon at the Beverly Center.

Now the one thing I had failed to mention was that during our time here in LA we availed ourselves of the services of Smooth Limo's. Now I know it sounds like the Nelson's have got a bit full of their own self importance by having limo and a driver.
However the reality was that it was chance meeting that got things started and the prices were no more expensive than what the taxis were. Now to have this service is one thing, but when your driver was the CEO and owner of the company well that takes it to a whole other level.
The boys did what they could to give Raphael (our driver) and education in Australian humour. He reciprocated by telling stories of what it is like to be a limo driver in Hollywood. The conversation lent itself to a wonderful, entertaining and hilarious interaction.
Finally we had to make our way back To LAX for our direct fight to Sydney courtesy of Sir Richard Branson and his crew aboard V Australia Flight no 4.
A new plane, great staff, state of the art personal entertainment equipment, comfortable and roomy seats allowed this 14 hour flight to go every smoothly indeed.

And before too long we were back in Australian and after a further 2 hour drive north we were back In Newcastle ready to return to the reality and excitement of TPC life.
The Journey Continues!
