We Are Back
Thursday 23rd December 2010
It has been a while since I have posted any updates. My apologies for that.
A lot has happened in past few months and rather than talk about what has happened let's look at what is happening.
Right now the Nelson family are in Vancouver BC Canada after spending 5 days in Hawaii.

Hawaii was, as always fantastic, we got there for the last day of The Billabong Pipeline Masters and to see Billabong surfer Joel Parkinson win his third consecutive Triple Crown of Surfing. This achievement puts Joel in very elite company, being the first Australian to win three in a row and only the second person ever to do so behind Sunny Garcia.
Yesterday we arrived in Vancouver after an over night 5 hour flight from Hawaii. Slight temperature difference. Hawaii was 27c on departure, Vancouver 9c on arrival.
Spent most of our first day downtown taking in the sights and pre Christmas Canadian bargains.
Today we spent the morning at the Vancouver aquarium and although it rained for most of the day, the family enjoyed all that the aquarium had to offer.
On the way back we took the scenic route through Stanley Park stopped to get a look at Grouse Mountain and the Lions Gate bridge. Even though I have seen this sight many times before, you never get tired of the scenery.
Next we caught the water taxi over to Granville Island for lunch. It became obvious very quickly that we were not the only ones that thought this was great idea.

Picked up a cab, headed downtown to pick up a few last minute bargains, then back to the Hotel to watch our adopted National Hockey League team the Vancouver Canucks take on the Columbus Blue Jackets. So far so good, the Canucks are up 3-0.
Tomorrow we are off to Lake Chelan, a town northwest of Seattle to spend a white Christmas with our daughter, her boyfriend and his family. Plenty of snow has been predicted, so Joanne should get her White Christmas.
I will post another update just after Christmas in the meantime Merry Christmas, Happy holidays and enjoy your time with family and friends.
