Subscribing to Bill’s blog
Enjoy reading Bill’s blog, but forget to come back and check for new posts? Save yourself the time and hassle, and subscribe via RSS, and you’ll be automatically notified every time Bill updates the site. Now this may sound a bit technical, but it really is quite simple. Here’s how it works:
What is RSS?
RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. It’s a type of file format that allows you to easily collect and read information from lots of different websites. Instead of having to visit all your favourite websites just to check if something new is up, your RSS feed reader will let you know automatically.
A feed reader?
An RSS feed reader can be a piece of software on your computer, or it can be a website that collects all your feeds for you. Either way, you’ll save a lot of time and be able to keep up to date more efficiently. If you generally use only one computer, then installing a feed reader on it will be a good option.
There are tons of feed readers out there - good options are NetNewsWire for the Mac, and FeedDemon on Windows.
If you use several computers, and want to have your feeds available everywhere, consider a web based feed reader. Again you have plenty of options - try Newshutch or Bloglines.
Adding Bill’s blog to your feed reader
Once you have setup your feed reader, you’ll want to start adding feeds to track. To include Bill’s Total Performance blog, you will need the correct RSS feed address.
http://feeds.feedburner.com/totalperformance
For most desktop feedreaders, clicking on that link should add it to your feeds. If you use a web based reader, you’ll need to copy and paste the URL into your feed reader at the appropriate spot.
That’s it!
Now whenever there is something new at Total Performance Concepts, you’ll be notified straight away. Thanks for visiting!
